So yesterday I asked about rental tips/tricks (I forgot to caveat that I've rented quite a few cars, but I don't know everything so I queried the Jalop hive-mind). Well, we have a very tight budget to get this trip done (it's a work trip for a big deal wiffle ball tournament or something). Edited to add: We're booked with a rental company right now that has some really bad reviews, and I'd rather not deal with a shitstorm when trying to complete a travel voucher and zero out my travel card.

Where have all the lightweights gone suggested Silvercar (pretty neat deal from what I saw) but unfortunately they don't have cars available for my trip dates. However, I stumbled upon a service called Relay Rides.

Has anyone used this service? Some preliminary looking makes it seem like Zipcar, but people rent out their own vehicles. I asked our Admin Assistant if she knew if we were authorized to use these services (stupid regulations) and am waiting on an answer. In the meantime, I figured I'd get some opinions/personal accounts from anyone that's used it.

And speaking of "In the Meantime", have some Spacehog.

I'll be honest, I've never heard of them. Although, the Spacehog video has brought forth a ton of nostalgia and I'm now going through all of the songs I enjoyed during high school.

Now I feel old.

The Rentals was a solo project from Matt Sharp, the original bass player from Weezer. He recorded it in between the first two Weezer records. Pat Wilson (also from Weezer) played drums on it. After listening to the record, you can see how much influence those two had on Weezer's first record.

Maybe you've heard of this one? It was released the same year as that first Spacehog record.
